Talecraft, The Prologue
Enero 29, 2008 at 4:45 hapon | In Talecraft | 6 Comments

“Lorie! Have you heard about the tale of Dark Fantasy card?” asked by her best friend while walking towards the school. She was grinning at her while talking.
“What about it?” answered Lorie while getting her pocket mirror from her handbag to comb his colored amber ringlet-hair. “Talecraft is just an ordinary deck of cards if you ask me.”
Her best friend suddenly stopped from walking and places herself in front of her, “You may not believe it but when I touched the card from that old geezer, I heard its voice! It is sweet yet sad and is calling out for me.”
“That is what you get if you’re overdoing playing your Talecraft my dear best friend.” said Lorie before slowly touching her hands. “I’m sorry but I have no time to play Talecraft with you today. I’ll make it up to you later, ok?”
“But it is real, I’m sure I heard a certain voice!” said her best friend in a weak and sad voice. Her excitement quickly vanished after hearing Lorie’s excuse. After all, she only wants her to listen about how she feels.
Lorie quickly ran towards their school gate to catch up with her class, leaving her best friend behind. “I’m sorry! I’ll make it up to you later, I promise, love you!”
“Interesting…” whispered by a man who’s hiding on a branch of tree, watching the two of them couple of blocks away. He immediately transformed into a bird and flew away from the two girls.
When Lorie’s class ended, she looked at her cell phone and saw one unread message from her best friend. It reads:
“You may not believe it but the old geezer is really handsome! It’s like magic and I have a date today at the park with him. He will show me something interesting so expect a late reply from me. I forgive you earlier.”
Somehow, Lorie became puzzled yet calm after reading her message. She simply decided to go home and rest for a bit. After all, her long and busy day was almost over and her best friend can stand both on her feet even if she’s not around.
She immediately went at her room and stared at the only picture frame available at her study table. Lorie can see herself together with her best friend one year ago. They were sitting on a couch and both of their little fingers are tied with Lorie’s hair string as a proof of their promise by as best friends with each other.
A slight crack suddenly appeared between their faces from the picture frame she’s staring at. Lorie quickly remembered her best friend’s date which prompted her to pack up her things to look for her at the park.
There is only one park where the old geezer might take her best friend and it is located on the north-eastern part of their hometown. Such park is beautiful at day but when night comes, only few have the balls to go in there. They say it is cursed and haunted by the two lovers who killed each other together in order to continue their love in another place.
When Lorie reached the park, she was surprised when she saw her best friend unconsciously lying on a ground. Her dress was heavily worn to shreds and bruises can be seen all over her body. She also saw traces of blood from her cheeks and her fangs became longer than before. Lorie also saw her best friend holding an apple and little portion of it were already eaten.
Suddenly, the old geezer came out of nowhere and transformed into a handsome man in front of Lorie. This is the man who followed them before going to school. This is the same man her best friend is currently dating during her class.
He immediately released a strong spell from his right hand against Lorie causing her to be thrown away. He approached her best friend and lifted her body using his psychic ability before kissing her lips. Lorie was startled, angry and eager to stand up to help her best friend but she couldn’t do anything as if there was something preventing her to move any further.
He might be handsome at her best friend’s sight but what Lorie can see is an extra-ordinary being not known in this world. Lorie was totally helpless.
Her best friend’s body started to heal while the man continuously kissing her. After a couple of seconds, Lorie saw dark wings coming out from his body that swiftly shrouded her best friend’s body. The man disappeared and only traces of floating black feathers together with some small energy particles left.
After recovering from being thrown out, Lorie immediately ran towards her best friend to check her condition but all of a sudden, her best friend woke up like nothing happened.
“This is more interesting…” whispered by her best friend before giving Lorie an embrace while staring at the beautiful full moon above them.
This story is a fragment of the Tagalog Trilogy I’m currently writing at right now by using Talecraft deck of cards. This piece is a submission for Komikasi’s contest for Valentine and Ateneo High School fair.
Can you identify the keyword cards I used on this story? There are at least six of them (the other two are excess)…

This artwork was uploaded in my DeviantArt account last March 7, 2007 as an entry for a contest entitled, “Seven Sins”. The goal of the contest is to combine all seven sins into an artwork and this is what I came up, an abstract image… again.
The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, are a classification of vices that were originally used in early Christian teachings to educate and instruct followers concerning (immoral) fallen man’s tendency to sin. The Roman Catholic Church divided sin into two principal categories: “venial“, which are relatively minor, and could be forgiven through any sacrament of the Church, and the more severe “capital” or mortal sin, which, when committed, destroyed the life of grace, and created the threat of eternal damnation unless either absolved through the sacrament of confession, or otherwise forgiven through perfect contrition on the part of the penitent. Beginning in the early 14th century, the popularity of the seven deadly sins as a theme among European artists of the time eventually helped to ingrain them in many areas of Christian culture and Christian consciousness in general throughout the world. One means of such ingraining was the creation of the mnemonic[1] SALIGIA based on the first letters in Latin of the seven deadly sins: Superbia, Avaritia, Luxuria, Invidia, Gula, Ira, Acedia.
Listed in the same order used by both Pope Gregory the Great in the 6th Century AD, and later by Dante Alighieri in his epic poem The Divine Comedy, the seven deadly sins are as follows:
- Luxuria (extravagance, later lust),
- Gula (gluttony),
- Avaritia (greed),
- Acedia (sloth),
- Ira (wrath, later anger
- Invidia (envy),
- and Superbiapride).
Each of the seven deadly sins has an opposite among the corresponding seven holy virtues (sometimes also referred to as the contrary virtues). In parallel order to the sins they oppose, the seven holy virtues are chastity, abstinence, temperance, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility. (The identification and definition of the seven deadly sins over their history has been a fluid process and the idea of what each of the seven actually encompasses has evolved over time. This process has been aided by the fact that they are not referred to in either a cohesive or codified manner in the Bible itself, and as a result other literary and ecclesiastical works referring to the seven deadly sins were instead consulted as sources from which definitions might be drawn. Part II of Dante’s Divine Comedy, Purgatorio, has almost certainly been the best known source since the Renaissance.
So that’s it for now, I hope like this artwork even if this is not a winning entry.

Love Ends When You Quit

http://kurokurokoto.wordpress.com/2008/01/22/i-wanna-quit/
Ahehee! Peace out fwend!

Love Ends When You Quit
“Tomboy!? Di ako tomboy no!
Dali-dali niyang binuksan iyon at binasa.
Razie!
“Be my lady, Razie, forever.” ayon sa sulat.

Renaldo Lapuz: A True Pinoy
Enero 19, 2008 at 9:48 umaga | In Feature | 33 Comments
Watch Renaldo Lapuz from Reno NV. He is a true pinoy. Why? Just click the URL below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07l70kley7U
Renaldo is a true entertainer. He is a true singer. He is a good example of sportsmanship and family member. And most of all, he gave a good smile to everyone instead of being pissed.
What more, he knows his limit and even he was given a big NO, he still left a good word for Simon (who rejected him) unlike other people who bastardly cursed or begged Simon for a second chance.
Renaldo need our support and testimonial from what he did so we can lift his ego because he deserves to be in American Idol final participants! Renaldo knows himself and he’s here to entertain us.
We salute you Renaldo, and until this moment, you are the star of my life.
(By the way, this is the english version of Kengkay’s post. I was totally inspired from what she had written. Thanks for sharing!)
I am your brother
Your best friend forever
Singing the songs
The music that you like
We’re brothers til the end of time
Together forever til the end of time
I am your brother
Your best friend forever
Singing the songs
The music that you like
We’re brothers til the end of time
Together or not, you’re always in my heart
Your hurting feelings
Will reign no more.
– Original Lyrics composed by Renaldo Lapuz (which was inspired by Brothers&Sisters song)
Simon you are a great person.
You give chance to everyone to sing to the whole world. I thank you.
You are heaven’s chosen to give chance to any talent for free of charge.Even they throw you negative words, but there are many people who really like you, who really admire you.
One of them is me, you are a great person, Simon.
– Final words of Renaldo Lapuz after hearing the result of his American Idol application.
Renaldo is obviously Filipino. Couldn’t you recognize his accent?
“Simon, you are a great person. You give chance to any talent to sing FOR FREE OF CHARGE.”
I love Renaldo. I am very proud of him and not ashamed. He actually showed the resiliency of the Filipino in the midst of adversity (he didn’t get in). He also showed true Filipino characteristics like love of family, friends, being gracious and joyful, and the gift of looking at the good instead of focusing on the bad (his admiration for Simon and just having a chance to perform on AI). Amazing.
— From annielise of Pinoy Exchange Forums.
At first, I was kinda hoping that: “omg, i hope he’s not pinoy, please let him not be pinoy, please god!” But, by the end of the audition, despite being in despairs, I was cheering for the guy.
– From meeya, a fellow Blogger
O……….k, laugh at the Filipino guy why don’t we. Renaldo Lapuz, anyone catch him on American Idol? DH and I were laughing so hard yet I realized that he might actually be making some Pinoys proud. A little bit of fame, why not? And his own composition at that, hey. Simon’s right, I’d bet his song becomes popular. Yes, even if it is to laugh at him.
And the sad part? Renaldo was crying at the end because he was so thankful that he could sing in front of them. HOW HUMBLING IS THAT? I actually felt so bad for him–although I know he had nothing but good things to say about his experience. He had absolutely no clue.
– From Jen, a fellow Blogger

WordPress Refund Policy
Enero 17, 2008 at 2:55 hapon | In Blogging | 6 CommentsI was playing with my ***** card and I thought my transaction will “not” be successful. Too bad, I have enough credits to make it work and poof! I have additional 1GB space for one year which I paid for $20.
Here’s the proof.

According to WordPress Terms of Service, Item 3, it states that:
- Fees and Payment. Optional premium paid services such as extra storage, domain purchases or VIP hosting are available on the Website. By selecting a premium service you agree to pay Automattic the monthly or annual subscription fees indicated for that service (the payment terms for VIP hosting are described below). To fully satisfy my frustration over my own “mistake”, I’ll just post my transaction history…

The VISA-PAYPAL *AUTOMATTICI CA US transacation description is the stuff I’m talking about. Arg! I should have just bought an online cellphone/game load instead of increasing my space.
But wait, I’m thinking of some remedies…
- Transfer this free space to a fellow blogger.
- Instead of additional space, I’ll just avail the full control css editing feature.
- Beg Matt for a refund since I’m a poor blogger (yeah right!)
In short, be careful on what you click and do not be trigger happy. Good day!
Your Words

Dear friend, How long I haven’t heard help from you?
Nothin’ gonna special happen in my life
Faces of the Sun & Moon still look the same
but I found that such a long time’s gone. I said,
Oh, the rain of sorrow striking me so deeply
walking a long way of despair & loneliness, oh no
Dancing with the empty heart, but after all
Nothin’s gonna scare me, trying to give a best shot
This is my way
~For your grateful love~I’m still longing you~
Thank you for your help
Dear friend, I made it end up lately
to chase the meanings & the answers of life
It’s not so hard to find the happiness
Wanna be moved by beautiful smiles & tears, oh baby
uh, I’m gonna fly away someday
uh, to the place you’re belonging to
Now I wanna watch to the end
of big confusion times~don’t wanna take my eyes off~
Until I see you again
TAG-heto pang isa!
Enero 15, 2008 at 9:47 umaga | In Blogging | 11 CommentsAnak ng! Nasira ang schedule ko sa pag po post ng any music related post ko for this day ng makita ko ang request na pag ta tag ni Bhie!
After all, yung mga kasagutan nila eh parang ako na rin ang sumagot. Comedy mode nga lang.
Enjoy guys!

— THE 20-QUESTION TAG —
RULES: Remove 1 question from below, and add in your personal question, make it a total of 20 questions, then tag 8 people in your list, list them out at the end of this post. Notify them in their chat box that he/she has been tagged.
1.) What can you say about Unwritten Thoughts?
Foo: Hehe, I just need your input to these one. Whether the comment/suggestion would be negative or positive, I will appreciate that.
Hama: For me, Unwritten Thoughts is a random blog. It doesn’t have any “particular” goal yet but I can see its horizon, a horizon called… goal. Sana marating ko agad yun.
2.) At what age do you wish to marry?
Foo: Ayon sa batas, 18 year old pwede ka nang magpakasal basta may parental consent. Kung 21, pwede na rin. Siguro between 18-30. I cannot really say.
Hama: Lecheng mga law books yan! Tantanan nyo na akooo!
3.) What color do you like most?
Foo: All colors!
Hama: Blue! Kasi ako si Sailor Mercury eh!
4.) Where is the place that you want to go the most?
A perfect spot to unwind from stress!
5.) Which part of you that you hate the most?
Foo: Siguro yung pagiging mapera. Yeah, seriously, I hate it kung marami akong pera. (sapul!)
Hama: Fafa Foo… pahinging pang tuition, onegai!?
6.) When you encounter a sad moment, what do you do?
Foo: I eat lots of sweet foods! At hindi ako nanunuod ng sad movies pag malungkot ako because it won’t make me happy either.
Hama: I go to Foo and talk to him. Hehe
7.) What are you afraid to lose the most?
Foo: Nothing. I am not afraid to lose anything or anyone. Because all what I have is not really in my own possession. All the glory goes to God. Forever and ever! (Amen? Amen!!!)
Hama: Hmpf! Kala ko pa naman mahal mo ako!
8.) If you win $1 million, what would you do?
(But siyempre, I have my own evil ways to keep that treasure. Nyahaha!)
Hama: Wicked sick!
9.) If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
10.) List out 3 good points of the person who tagged you.
Grrrr!
Hama: Nothing, null, void
11.) What are the requirements that you wish from your other half?
Foo: Just be with his/her true self na lang siguro.
Hama: Ah ganun pala ha… “Pare, may yosi ka ba dyan!?”
12.) Till now, what is the moment that you regret the most?
Foo: TANGENA! Napanaginipan ko yung ex-girlfriend ko! Hmpf! Di bale, marami namang ways para kalimutan yun… diba Beh? ^_^ (XXX not included)
Hama: SHADAP! Hindi ka mahal ni Minako Aino! Ako ang tunay na nagmamahal sayo! Buti natauhan ka!
13.) Which type of person do you hate the most?
Lalim no?
Hama: Tsk… no comment. Amen!
14.) What is your ambition?
15.) What is the thing that will make you think he is bad?
Foo: Do not judge the book by its cover, ikanga. Kaya I cannot really say.
Hama: Siguro… pag nag co comment tapos, sinasabi niya na, “Kaya, I cannot really say”
16.) What is it that people doesn’t know about you?
*blush*
17.)What is your motto in life?
Foo: Madami!
Hama: Too many to mention!
18.) Name one of your body part your bf/gf adores.
Foo: Titi!
Hama: Puke!
19.) In 2008, do you have a new year’s resolution?
Foo: Wala!
20.) If your better half is cheating on you, will you forgive her?
Foo: Ewan ko kay Hama… *titig kay Hama in a puppy eyes version*
Hama: No, ikaw lang master ko Foo kailanman! *iniisip si Brad Pitt*
Now I tag the following persons! Sagutan niyo ito or else, kakatayin ko kayo! Nyarrr!

Philweavers, The Great Beer Challenge
Enero 14, 2008 at 12:02 hapon | In Art | 7 CommentsI’m actually waiting for a good chance to post my art, whether it be digital or in sketch mode, until “destructiveflea” (not that rambo type flea at your home / a fellow philweaver member) sent the following instant message to my yahoo account:
Check out the new PW Designers Challenge with free (mt) hosting as prices..if that doesn’t work for you, atleast you could photoshop the beautiful and sexy beer model at: http://www.philweavers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=4078&st=0#entry43383
I never had any idea that I would be able to finish such work at less than an hour. I’m quite satisfied with my work but somewhere inside this art, there’s something wrong. Can you help me point it out? Comments, praises, etc, would be welcome!

In case you guys are wondering who’s destructiveflea, here’s a screencap of her avatar, hehe! (Peace tayo fellow weaver ha! Meow!)

Spiff Magazine – Powering up the call center life (Maiden Issue, January 2008)
Enero 12, 2008 at 9:32 hapon | In Feature | 11 CommentsWhile visiting Pag-Ibig building in Makati to attend a housing seminar with my friends, I stumbled on a newly published magazine called Spiff. At first glance, it looks like an ordinary magazine but what really catch my attention was the “Powering up the call center life” line. So my hands (as well my wallet) automatically moved on its own and bought it together with my unhealthy breakfast for this day.
Without further ado, I present to you, Spiff (Maiden Issue – Vol 1 – January 2008) Magazine from Atlas Publishing Co. Ltd. along with some of the “excerpts” and my opinion on each topics since I’m really fired up to write a very special feature this day.

—————————————-
Title: Spiff, Powering up call center life
Media: Print
Price: P120 or $3
Pages: 98
Front Cover: Queue! The phenomenon that is call center (I think they used mirror replication technique using their featured call center agents on this issue. The same technique was used in Motorola phone before which I really love as well. A very creative piece and cover!)
—————————————-
Editor’s Note: What is Spiff? In the call center circle, Spiff is a buzzword that incites or has a tendency to incite determination or action. In plain language, Spiff means incentives, gifts, prizes, freebies, favors, bonuses, money. You work hard and you are awarded with spiff – on top of your fixed, fat salaries! So despite their young age, these professionals are considered to hold one of the biggest buying powers in the country today. They enjoy life: eat out, watch shows, listen to good music, work out, shop, travel, save, invest. These are the reasons why you now hold the magazine in your hand. Thus, SPIFF, Powering Up the Call Center Life. (This is the first time I heard this term, my goodness! I’ve been working in IT field for almost four years now and I think I’ve been missing too much important terms these days. Thanks Spiff and thanks Mel for the enlightenment!)
Contributors:
- Kevin Sabino, Creative Director/Design Director
- Janette De Veyra, Art Director
- Alex Earnshaw, Photographer
- Amy Leigh Rollera, Night-Owl Bubble Babe Service Assurance Engineer
- Bailey Agustin-Dava, Fashion Editor
- Maria Preciousa Tierra Cadenas, Wyoming?
- Eric Soriano, Free-spirited, fun-loving and adventurous
- Catherine Jasmine Tagle-Garcia, Food Specialist
Cover Story: We often hear of the term call center. Everybody is talking about it: Great paying job, no need for college diploma or professional license, just the willingness to learn the acumen of the business, flexible in terms of working hours, and have good communication skill and behavior. (Very informative! If you will read this whole section, you will find stuffs which you never encountered before. A very good researched material guys!)
Ramp Up – Dressed to the 9s: They are called ‘people of the dark.’ But they are far from gloomy. They radiate with energy, excitement, and enthusiasm as they report for work at night in the different call centers in…
- Novid Jafari, Team Leader at ICY Group
- Pauline ‘Pai’ Valenzuela, HTMT Representative
- Mitz Sumalinog, Team Leader at Confabia, Inc.
- Patrick Joseph ‘PJ’ Calpo, Team Leader at HSBC Alabang
- Danika ‘Nikka’ Yap, Trainer at Vision-X Global Solutions Inc.
- Anthony Ortiz, Real Time Analyst at APAC Cubao
- Bailey Agustin-Dava, Client Relations Manager at Vision-X Global Solutions Inc.
- Carl Alejandrino, Former Event Planner
- Pamela Cruz, Team Leader at Convergy’s Makati
(This is one of the many reasons why I like SPIFF! They give other people to shine and not only to gather all the shine or fame by themselves. How I wish I can post my stuffs here as well. Too bad, I don’t have any SLR camera and small studio yet, but who knows I might have it this year, hopefully. Visit http://makeupbycher.multiply.com for more details)
Ramp Up – Cool coverups: Brrr! It’s cold inside and out. But that doesn’t mean saying good-bye to fashionable look. (Ah yes! I forgot my own coverup at my uncle house! Grrr! Is Reydogg the name of the model here?)
Ramp Up – Window Shopping – A Guide to Buying Online by Bailey Agustin-Dava: A call center professional’s life is shifting: Up at night, down at day. Because of this unusual work schedule and life style, call center professionals rarely have time to shop. They’d rather hit the sack or go some place else to relax and unwind from the very stressful work that they do. (I only tried buying online once but I didn’t bought for a product, I bought a service which enables me to access the full feature on a certain online game. Arg! I’m such a game addict! Oh, and thanks for the links too.)
Ramp Up – All That Bling: ‘Tis the season for blings and more blings! (They featured earrings, necklaces, cuffs and bangles, bracelets and wristwatches on this section. If you’re a true kikay, this is a must see section!)
Ramp Up – Bag it and Go!: Pack your stuff in funky, but stylish bags that come in cool patterns and hot colors that match hip ankle-length zip-up boots, chic pumps or dainty slip-ons. (My mother will surely love this section! They featured bags and shoes on this one which I can only view on SPIFF. Well, it’s a girl thing anyway.)
Ramp Up – Cacha Bag! No Plastic, Please by Bailey Agustin-Dava: Wanna be a hero? Yes, you could be a hero in your own little way and help save mother earth. Start off by helping to slow down the process of global warming. How? Say no to plastic. Lke plastic bags. Did you know that a regular polythylene-based plastic bag take 100 years to degrade the environment? The best option? Cacha bag! (I totally agree with you on this one Bailey. Nice article and surely, environmentalists will surely love your piece. Say, why don’t the congress pass a law which bans plastic stuffs in the Philippines? We can always think of an alternative, right?)
Ramp Up – Scented Mallows on your feet! by Bailey Agustin-Dava: Times have flipped. Who would have thought that the lowly rubber slippers, now populary as flip flops, can be worn – and accepted – the in the workplace? (Well, I love wearing slippers as well but it hurts my feet since I’m always on the go. I also need my feet to be protected whenever I’m out of my house. Nice collections by the way!)
Tech Squad – A Touch of I: Overall, iPod Touch is a notable thingamajig but due to its price tag and limited capacity, it may give some shoppers a “break in proceedings” before they shell out their moolah. (You should watch PC World ’s Durability Test of this product in YouTube, it will surely give you a long “Awww”. Hehehe)
Tech Squad – ZENsational!: The long quiet Creative Zen is back! (I’m quite excited to see this product personally as well but I will stick to my iPod Nano for the meantime. I’m such a poor guy.)
Tech Squad – Vivid Video: Aside from Apple iPod Touch, there’s another thingamajig that makes you feel as if you are on cloud nine: Archos 605 Wi-Fi. This exceptionally designed portable video player(PVP) has a 4.3 inch TFT LCD vivid, right, glare-resistant screen, and displays a resolution of 800×480. Whoa! Another distraction for us, guys! (Yeah! Raise the roof! My father will surely love this one, maybe I should buy this item a birthday gift for him this coming March, what do you think?)
Tech Squad – The Skinny on PSPs: Who in the world is not fascinated with the new PSP (Playstation Station Portables) which is 30% lighter and 19% slimmer? (Well, I am not really fascinated by this one. But hey, I like the TV-out feature. It’s a conflicting point of view, right?)
Tech Squad – A Speaker In Your Pocket: Now comes another gadget which you can pair with your portable media player or with your favorite mobile phone: they LG MSP-200 portable speakers. (My mother’s laptop speaker is surely a bummer! I didn’t even know why the heck it has a poor quality when we bought it at a higher price! I swear to all alien lords that I will buy this for her!)
Rec Room – Survive and Thrive During the Holidays by Eden Carlos: Sometimes, we can’t help bu, feel a tinge of trepidation whenever the holidays are near. Sure, it’s the most wonderful time of the year, as the song goes, but it can also trigger stress and in, some, the blues. (I feel the same way too. Thanks for the encouragement! A must read for those people who feel low every time a holiday is getting near.)
Rec Room – The Zzz Factors: Catch That Elusive Sleep – Quick! by Eden Carlos: You’ll be surprised – it’s not just your job that affects how you sleep, but also how long takes you to get to your job. (I suggest to add in “So what do we do to make sure we get enough sleep section”, to say a silent prayer and thank God everything that happened to you in that day. An informative section especially for me who only sleeps four to five hours a day)
Rec Room – Eeek! Is this me? How To Look Fresh and refreshed After the GY Shift: You hang your headset, stretch a bit, and stand up. Your GY (Graveyard) shift is up. You are ready to hit home – and the sack. Then, you catch ’somebody’ in the mirror. You look closely. (Wah! This is not me! Thanks to this helpful article! I can save myself from everyday stress and rejuvenate myself after office hours!)
Rec Room – Puff Till You Drop by Ernee Lawagan: People smoke for a number of reasons – from emotional to physical, to psychological. It relieves tension and stress, it makes them feel more sophisticated, it makes them think better or gives them alertness in their work. (I stopped smoking three years ago and it took me a couple of days for me to stop smoking. My relatives are smoking and I am not against it since according to them, they benefit from it. Tobacco has been a special trade item even before Spanish came to the Philippines and it may take a miracle for a country to completely ban such thing for its people to use it. Kudos to you!)
Release – A Virgin Makes it On The Floor by Lotus: He is such a darling and each of his growing days makes him look more and more like his father. It’s just too bad his look-alike won’t be around to witness this phenomenon. (I like your courage to share your story Lotus. I learned a lot of things from your story and I hope for your son’s good future as well.)
Help Line – Am I Nuts – or Gay? by Confused Guy: I used to believe that I lead a charmed life: a posh condominium along EDSA, a successful career, an amazing, beautiful fiancee. Until I met a guy who changed everything about and around me. (Whoah! What a story! It’s a good thing your fiancee didn’t had the chance to knew such thing between you and that guy. My only advice is, if you still love your fiancee, go back to her and tell her the whole story. Make love to him, give her flowers, send her sweet text messages, etc. For me, you are nuts! Be strong!)
Help Line – Foul Smell by Motormouth: He was introduced to us agents as our new Team Leader wwhen our former TL was promoted to Operations manager. (Maybe he got his bad breath from not eating breakfast. It is a BIG factor. I suggest to keep your mouth shut if you are not friends with him. But if he trusts you, then be open. I’m sure it will work.)
Help Line – High On Love by Heaven: When I was in high school, I threatened to jump from the second floor of my schoo building because my first love would not speak to me. (I do not know what to say since you have a girlfriend already. I suggest you open up this topic to your girlfriend since you two are partner in everything, right?)
Edibles – Sweet Holiday by Cathy Tagle-Garcia: Free yourself from the hassles of holiday shopping. Treat your family, friends and colleagues to one-of-a-kind sweets which you can order for giveaways this season. (Now I’m feeling hungry. Grrr… I will definitely grab those stuffs later!)
Edibles – The Call of Coffee by Ernee Lawagan: COFFEE, the drink of choice of office workers, security personnel, telephone operators and in recent yearss, call center agents. (I love coffee as well! My big boss loves coffee so much that he even has a collection of different coffee beans in each country he visits. His collection can be found at his main office at Cupertino. Pretty interesting piece!)
Work Force – Talk Time: Edda Madrazo – Taking things one day at a time by Precious Cardenas: If 20-something superior can already be her subordinate’s daughter and the setting is in the call center industry, this scenario of having more and more young but mature superiors is not really farm from reality. (I admire Jedda Madrazo for being featured in SPIFF. I do not know her personally but I’m planning to meet her one of these days. Don’t worry, I won’t bite. Coffee or tea?)
Work Force – In Vogue by Eric Soriano: IVOG and ACS was featured on this one. (I admire these two companies who supports indigenous local people such as AETA. How I wish I could do the same thing in my current company.)
Work Force – Working with Honey by Bailey Agustin-Dava: You cannot help it. You enter a workplce. You meet somebody. You both get closer and closer by the day, err, night. Before you know it, you fall for each other, kayo na. (I totally agree with you on this one Bailey! It’s a good thing it never happened to me since even though I’m surrounded by sweet and young little girls. Well, you should see their pictures or meet them personally sometime. They’re cute and very lively. I love them!)
Work Force – Make your hard-earned Moolah Grow by Maan D’Asis Pamaran: You work hard for your money. The long hours, the quotas, the pesky client who reported you for being so “unhelpful.” The everyday stress is just enough to make you consider throttling your nearest supervisor, or even jumping off the roof deck during break time. Indeed, you have earned every goshdarned centavos on your pay slip. (I really learned something new again on this one Maan. I will try the Time Deposit strategy. Hopefully, it will work on my part. Please cheer for me!)
Out Bound – Waterworld by Sid Marasigan: There are, at this moment, seven wakeboard parks in Asia, but non quite like CamSur Watersports Complex (CWS). With the beautiful Mount Isarog as backdrop, the setting is picturesque and idyllic. (Maybe I should cancel my visit to Cebu and Bohol this May and visit Camarines Sur instead. Hehe, nice stuff Sid!)
Out Bound – Malayisa Beckons by C.M. Aberin: When most tourists would rather walk the Orchard Road of Singapore, take advantage of the bargains in Thailand or appreciate the Borobudur Temple of Indonesia, one other Asian country is greatly ignored, Malaysia. Why go to Malaysia? Well, for one, the tallest twin towers in the world are no longer the only attraction. (Nice pictures CM! How I wish I can also visit the place you mentioned here before the end of 2008. Maybe I can ask tip from you personally in the future when the flight plan is already in place. Cheers!)
Water Cooler – Will Is Here by C.M. Aberin: This month, Will Smith headlines yet another exciting flick with I am Legend. Smith is scientist Robert Neville, who survives a deadly virus that ultimately annihilates the entire human race. The virus has taken form and is watching his every move while Neville is on a race against time to figure out a cure for the virus out of his own blood. (This movie is the same like The Invaders but this is way cooler and fantastic! Thanks for the informative information regarding Will Smith. Boy, I’m hoping for Matrix being Smith as the star. Hehehe.)
Water Cooler – A Little Bit of Everything by Jethsel Allego: ERECTUS is no way an ordinary band. This multi-genre-ed Erectus found itself standing for over two decades in the industry with its outstanding, energetic and extraordinary performance and tounge-in-cheek original material. (I never met them personally at any bar. Maybe I’ll try visiting YouTube and other internet links regarding them. Guys! We have a new band to watch out for!)
Water Cooler – Gimik to the Max!: Different team building pictures can be seen on this section. A good source of stress reliever and laugh. (I will definitely send our team building pictures here as well! For sure, you will love them!)
Water Cooler – Mugged! by Eden Carlos: The first time, there was a quick tug and before I knew it, I was caught between holding to my bag or getting dragged by a car. The second time, I found myself staring at an icepick pointed right at me. (I was mugged as well and my cellphone was taken forcefully. Well, it’s a normal thing for me since I live somewhere in Tondo but the tug is only lucky guy. Well, I’m luckier because he didn’t get my P10k cash and video camera. I wish you luck on the third time, hehe)
Water Cooler – For Wyoming – Training Bloopers 101 by Precious Cardenas: Well trained? Whoever things that phonetics is boring stuff is surely never from a call center. (One word on this one. Never let your guard down! Put it up and put it well. Ah! Enough with the putting. Nice one Precious!)
At last, my first special feature every Saturday was finished! This is really an extensive post and I’m so proud of it! To SPIFF guys and gals, keep up the good work! I’m hoping for the best on your second issue!
